Forestry Services

A primary area of service for BeaverTooth is specialized labour services for forest industry clients. These services include:

• Hand falling, Danger Tree Assessing/Falling and Certified Utility Arborist for harvesting operations, utility companies (Fortis, BC Hydro etc.), rail companies, highways/infrastructure projects and residential projects.
• Manual labour including immature tree spacing, pruning, bucking, piling etc.
• Slash pile burning for post-harvest debris cleanup.

As BeaverTooth’s capacity is likely to remain limited to hand crews and small equipment, the company will not be completing full scale harvesting operations alone. Instead, BeaverTooth’s strategy should be to play support roles for harvesting and road construction projects, offering hand falling/ labour services in a subcontractor capacity. This will allow the company to stay involved in a variety of forestry operations without the need for large capital investments in heavy equipment. Several strategies are being used to expand BeaverTooth’s general forestry services:

• Utilizing Jason August’s existing network to obtain contracts with forestry companies and logging contractors.
• Conduct outreach to new forestry companies, First Nations organizations, municipalities, and provincial government agencies in the area to obtain additional clients.
• A large amount of utility, railway, forestry, and infrastructure projects are direct awarded to SteS by private companies and government organizations. BeaverTooth is utilized to complete any falling/general labour work for these projects. BeaverTooth is collaborating with SteS Economic Development Department to obtain work through these direct award projects.
• BeaverTooth will move towards browsing open bid advertisement sources (e.g., BC Bid) to find projects being advertised within their geographic vicinity and submit proposals for projects within BeaverTooth’s scope of services.
